So I was browsing Luxola and stumbled upon this intriguing brand - Julie Hewett. I have ever heard of this brand, much less seen their lipsticks anywhere. There was this whole array of reds for me to choose from and my heart was literally palpitating. However, I didn't want to get another really red lipstick since I already have MAC's Russian Red, but I still wanted something from the same color family, so I chose Gem, which is a sheer red. I was thinking that it would be pretty versatile for layering and everyday wear and such.

The website described Gem as to give the same shade as 'rosy cheeks in the snow' and suits 'light to medium skin tones'. I really liked that the website provided swatches and described the colors. Very helpful!

The packaging is a beautiful gold tube. Not heavy like YSL's. I think it's made of lighter metal so it doesn't feel REALLY expensive, but still pretty! The lipstick in the tube looks really opaque, though, but it is really sheer. It is a neutral red when swatched on my skin and on my lips, looks a TEENSY bit coral. Barely noticeable. It glided on really nicely and on top of lip balm, it gave me lips a really nice, healthy tinge of colour. Without lip balm, it was darker, but still really sheer. The color payoff was not very good, even for a sheer lipstick. I was quite disappointed as I had to keep layering and layering on, with slow color buildup. 

So I'm gonna do a tiny M.A.C review, and by tiny I  mean only 2 products haha! First is the Peony Petal blush and then Russian Red!

I only just got the PP blush like 2 days ago? And I had a Christmas party coming up and was really excited to wear it. AND I MUST SAY, I LOOOOOOVEEEE THIS BLUSH! Thing about my cheeks is that it has high alkaline(?) levels or something, so blushes (yes, even some blue-toned ones) turn orange on me, and I have been on a purple-toned blush hunt since. Read reviews of PP, swatched it, even the lady at MAC recommended it, so I was sucked in. The swatch on my hand scared me at first, because it looked so bright! But on the face, it's perfect.

Hi all! Just got back from shopping for a New Year's Eve dress and obviously had to get some makeup too. Picked up one of Catrice's mono eyeshadows in 400 My First Copperware Party (I said I would get it!) and one of their Long Lasting Lip Pencils in 040 And The Cherry On Top! I also got (well, my boyfriend did) MAC's blush in Peony Petal. I thought Peony Petal, along with Full of Joy and the whole of the Très Cheek collection was limited edition but apparently some stores still carry them! I was actually contemplating between FOJ, PP, and Katie from Illamasqua but settled for PP because FOJ was too shimmery (not good for my oily skin) and I was afraid that Katie might turn a little orange on me.

I might not be reviewing the monoshadow by Catrice if it wears the same as Oh, It's Toffeeful! but just give an update instead, since I'm wearing it tomorrow for Christmas! I'll update about the lip pencil and blush though!

Hello again! I am doing three posts in the same day just cause I can. :P Anyway, gonna talk about NYX Jumbo Eye Pencils! Everyone in the world of beauty blogging has definitely talked about these before and I know I'm terribly late on the bandwagon haha. NYX in Singapore is pretty expensive, about $9 for one stick. I've got three colors, Milk, Yoghurt and Iced Mocha. 

Spotted a new-ish brand called Catrice and did some research. Catrice is one of the brands from the company Cosnova, who also owns Essence! So Catrice is basically Essence's sister brand. (: Quite happy that brands like these are popping up in Singapore, since we don't get like 60% of products from brands like Maybelline and Revlon. Anyway, like Essence, Catrice sells extremely affordable makeup that has not bad quality either! I got three things from them, a blush, a mono eyeshadow and a brow/eyelash gel, all for about $10! That's cheap, considering that makeup in Singapore is craaaaay expensive!

Got this baby last year for Christmas from my aunt, who works with an airline company. They probably sold them on the planes as I tried googling this and nothing came up. =\

Anyway, I only just pulled it out when trying out looks for Christmas and New Year's Eve and boy, is this a stellar product! First off, this sleek and sophisticated case came in a nice suede pouch with a drawstring and the Lancôme logo printed on the bottom. The case is sturdy and has a simple printing of a street lamp and the Eiffel tower.

Inside, there are 3 shadows, a blush/highlighter and 3 application sticks. What I love about this is that the blush/highlighter is embossed with the same picture on the case, but since this is all pink and shimmery, it's extra gorgeous!

Okay so my dad and brother recently got back from Canada and bought me heaps of stuff, one of which was the L'oreal Voluminous Million Lashes mascara. I first heard of it at my friend's house. I vaguely remember trying it on and loving it, so I told my dad to go get it (please, obviously (: ) and he did! I got it in Blackest Black.

It can be used in three ways: a highlighter, shimmer and eyeshadow! How handy would this lovely gem be huh? (; Comes with a ton of product and a big mirror - a.k.a perfect! - A simple gentle swipe of your brush would be enough for one cheekbone! I prefer applying this on my nose bridge and cupid's bow with my fingers, though.
