Battle Of The Micellar Waters: Bioderma vs Plante System

Bioderma. The Queen of Micellar Waters. The Holy Grail Cleansing Water. No matter how expensive this product is in whatever country, people still splash out money. Yep. People are paying 30 dollars for water. And why? Why is micellar water that big of a deal? A no rinse, non-alchohol, waterproof makeup-remover that tones your skin at the same time sounds too good to be true! Does it actually work?

Yes.

Ever since I delved into the magical, enchanted world of Bioderma, I've been nothing but obsessed. This swipes off waterproof mascara effortlessly and does not leave any film or residue on my skin. I'm pretty familiar with Bioderma, Revlon, L'oreal... But one brand I have not seen before, however, is Plante System. I spotted it from far because its packaging was so similar to Bioderma's!

Performance wise, they are quite similar. Both took an equal number of soaked cotton pads to clean my full face. I've found, however, that it is a teensy weensy bit easier with the Plante System one and it leaving my face just a teensy weensy bit cleaner.

However, I would personally keep repurchasing Bioderma because it is just slightly cheaper, with the difference not enough to justify the (just slightly) better performance of Plante System.

On a side note, I personally prefer the packaging of Plante System. Bioderma's looks a bit more... 'Clinical', if you know what I mean.

Have you tried micellar waters? Which is your favourite?

  1. I do love Bioderma! Great for removing make up in one swipe and it's ever so gentle, wish it was cheaper though.
